Update
The day is fast approaching. Our wedding is in two weeks. 16 days to be exact. We have been finalizing everything with the vendors and coming up with a timeline for the weekend. I cannot begin to tell you how stressful it has been planning a wedding almost on my own (thanks Mom!) while working full time, and trying to plan for life after the wedding. Ever since Derek decided to go back to school for his second degree, we have been looking for a place to move to in Auburn. Sadly, since its the middle of the fall semester most rentals are full, and since we aren't planning on being there longer than 2 years, it doesn't really make sense to buy. Then on top of not knowing where we will live, I've also been job hunting to be able to afford that eventual dwelling. Months and months passed with no word from anyone, and then I got two interviews in one weekend. One turned out to be pretty promising, and we are in the hiring process right now. I am still hoping for this one particular other job, but at this point, I'm going to have to take what I can get. Today we also contacted an apartment that we originally thought wouldn't work (since we are running out of time and all) and it turns out we may have been wrong about it. I sent in the application, so fingers crossed we get accepted.About the wedding: It will be in the back garden of a large white Antebellum home called Annabella at Cedar Glen. We will have shades of purple and sage green in our flower arrangements and my bouquet- from In Bloom florist. There will be bronze lanterns and white pumpkins lining the aisle. Ole Hickory BBQ is catering our loaded mashed potato bar, and we are having banana pudding instead of a grooms cake. Our wedding cake is 1/3 chocolate with chocolate frosting, and 2/3 vanilla with salted caramel frosting- from Just Crumbs bakery. We will have an open bar, and plenty of dancing- music courtesy of my Spotify account and an Apple iPod touch. Our send off will be down a tunnel of Auburn shakers to the door of a big black SUV ready to cart us off to Atlanta where we will spend the night in the Hyatt hotel. The next morning we depart for Tulum, Mexico for 5 days! If you'd like any more details, please leave a comment! I would also love to hear what you did (or what you want to do!) for your own wedding! I'm sure I'll post pictures after the fact, too. It is finally starting to feel real. I'm ready to wife my heart out! :) Love,Jess
