When the Lemons Life Gave You Go Bad

I like lemons. Don't get me wrong. Lemon Slushes from Sonic are one of my favorite summer refreshments. Hypothetical lemons are fine too.But.When life's lemons go bad, well, that can be a challenge. We still haven't heard from the company in Atlanta, and we are tired of waiting. Derek has been applying to other jobs, and so have I. We are ready to move on. We want to move out and have our own house. Luckily, the hospital I was working at in Huntsville has contacted me saying they have an opening if I want it. I told them I can start next week. I can't just sit here and wait for life to give us more lemons. I'm going to go pick them myself.Derek and I rearranged his room this week. It made us feel more human and less homeless. I unpacked my paper bag that has been holding my 5 outfits, and made myself a little homemade dresser in his bookshelf. I just haven't wanted to unpack anything from our last move for fear of having to pack it all right back up. Not to mention theres's no room to put anything else. Good thing I am good at living minimally. It also has shown me that I don't need a whole bunch of stuff to be happy. I've got the girls and Derek and my laptop. That's all I need. Oh, and comfy clothes and a heated blanket. But that's it. It has been difficult for us both, to live out of boxes, never knowing what the next week will hold. I think we are finally ready to unpack. On a different note, I started writing a book. It wont be a novel or anything. It's kind of just like a really long blog post. The goal is to publish it online (and maybe make a couple of dollars with it), but mostly to give life advice to those who may be going through, have gone through, or might be about to go through some of the things Derek and I have experienced. Kind of like a warning haha. Let me know if you'd like to read it and I can post the link when it's finished! I also finally have time to go to the social security office to change my name. It has been so chaotic since the wedding that I just never had time. I'd like to not have to re-do paperwork for jobs while in the middle of name changing. Thanks for reading, and make sure to follow me on Instagram for new LifeasTice pictures!Love, Jess
