When the Hubs is Away, Wifey Will Play!!

Hello!Derek left for our friend Jonathan's wedding on Friday. It's in Auburn, so not too far away. I really hate that I had to miss it, but we couldn't board the girls again only a week after they were boarded last time. I know it was beautiful though, and I cant wait to see all the pictures! It makes me nostalgic for our wedding day. Although that was one of the most stressful days of my life, it was also one of the most exciting. Being surrounded by love and well wishes meant solely for you and the love of your life is such an amazing feeling/atmosphere. We felt like total celebs. Then the excitement of the honeymoon; ugh it's just all so incredible!Anyways, since I was alone in our new home for the first time, I thought I'd make the most of it! Friday night consisted of dishes, laundry, dog brushing, and tidying the house. ;)I know what you're thinking: Wow. Fun. NOT.Well, I don't know about you, but I always feel like I can relax more thoroughly if I don't have a bunch of mess staring me in the face! Saturday was when the real party started. I woke up, took the girls out, and then made ORANGE DANISHES. Mmmmm I am obsessed with these things. Like, obsessed to the extent of waiting until my hubs is gone for the weekend so I can make them and have them all to myself.... Shameful. After my amazing breakfast, I started organizing our closet. (Watch out! I am WILD.) I realized that I have way too many clothes and it was time for a lot to be sent to Goodwill, so I sorted clothes for oh, I don't know, 4 hours? I only stopped when my stomach was growling so hard it was painful. So I came down stairs and made some black bean nachos and sat down to watch some good ol' Netflix. Once Upon a Time is incredible, if you are looking for a show to start. I kinda got turned off of it a few years ago, but recently started it back up again and it is so so good. I'm on the last season they have on Netflix, so that is sad. But its a good thing to watch when D is gone, cause he would hate it. After I had vegged out for a while, I took the girls on a walk. This is always a stressful time for me because combined, they weigh over 150 lbs, which is quite a bit more than I weight, so when they pull on their leashes it can lead to disaster. (no they are not impeccably trained soldier dogs that don't pull. don't give me that sass. -_-) We have harnesses for them both, and it makes a HUGE difference with their walking manners. It was actually one of the best walks we've ever had. I felt like a member of dog pack strutting along. I loved it. Beautiful weather, and a phone call to my Momma made it even better. We walked until me legs got itchy (damn nerves), and then turned around. It was peaceful until we got right to our own walkway. A lady from the other side of the neighborhood was walking her two tiny dogs near our house and the girls wanted to badly to go see them. They took off. I nearly face-planted. I screamed at them like a grown man. They cower in fear. I drag them inside. Whew. I sit down for more Once Upon a Time until dinner, which ended up being a frozen breaded chicken patty and cauliflower tater tots (MMM) with ketchup to dip, and a beer. What a day. I told you I'm wild. Today is Sunday, so D will be home later on. I guess I better take a shower at some point. I might go to Avalon later on, too. It's like BridgeStreet from back home- outdoor mall type thing with restaurants. On a side note, yesterday morning, I spent about 2 hours before I started organizing my closet, organizing our finances. If you are not using Mint, you need to reevaluate your life. This website/app is incredible. I can import all of our stuff so I can see bills, income, loans, budget etc, all in one place! I am super excited about incorporating it into our family financial planning time. Check out my Instagram for pictures of my crazy home alone adventure aka my food and the dogs. :) Hope you had a great weekend too! Love,Jess
